Objectives:
The aim is to understand how SHP plays a positive role in construction of rural electrification, easing rural energy shortage, elimination of poverty, returning farmland to forest, environmental protection and realization of sustainable development of rural communities; to learn China’s advanced SHP technologies on planning and design, engineering construction and equipment manufacturing, and learn policies on operation and management and other supporting policies; to deepen the cooperation with the energy sectors of the trainees’ countries and further promote cooperation on SHP between China and South and Southeast Asian regions.
Programs:
1. China’s water regimen (introduction of water resources in China, introduction of South-to-north Water Transfer Project and the Three Georges Project in China, and management of water resources in China, etc.)
2. Macro SHP policies (the history, current status and experiences of SHP development in China, Construction of efficiency improvements and capacity additions at existing SHP project, green hydropower standards in China, and ecological SHP construction in rural areas, etc.)
3. Development and management of SHP projects.
