Objectives：

The aim is to improve the integrated control level for major crop diseases and insect pests in the ASEAN countries; to strengthen the harmonized monitoring, early warning system and the joint commission ruling mechanism to prevent long-distance dispersal of plant diseases and insect pests caused damage; to enhance the early warning level for crop diseases and insect pests in the ASEAN countries actively; to promote academic exchanges and technical cooperation in those areas between China and ASEAN countries.

Programs：

1. The basic principles and techniques of modern diagnostic, quarantine and detection, the system of epidemic early warning, and the using of relevant software, concept of integrated pest management (IPM);
2. Main technical measures of sustainable development of modern agriculture and the successful cases;
3. Lab experiments of PCR molecular identification technology for crop pests, Real time PCR technology for insect pests and monitoring and forecast and relevant software; 
4. Study tours to the sites of monitor and quarantine and integrated pest management in Yunnan Province.
