Beijing Institute of Chemical Reagents (BICR) was established according to the National long-range developing program of science and technology and the spirit of "Improving plan of chemical reagents" authorized for dispatch by the State Council of China in 1958.  It is the first special research organization for chemical reagents in our country. BICR has been working hard always around the central task for developing new variety, new technology of chemical reagents and new chemical materials for industry for over 40 years. Through incessantly hard working and construction for ages, our Institute has developed into an important researching and developing base for microelectronic chemicals, biochemical and clinical diagnostic reagents, and fine chemicals.

 
The total construction area, which BICR has now, is about 14000m², covering the land of 13500m². All of the instruments and equipments which BICR possesses are modern, including ICP-MS, superconducting nuclear-magnetic resonance spectrometer (NMR), Fourier infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR), Laser-transduced particle tester, etc. In addition to these, BICR has a qualified research team. The technicians occupy 70% of all the staffs. Over 43% of technicians are engineers, senior engineers or over. The main products include series of positive and negative photoresists and their auxiliary agents, ultra-clean and high-purity reagents, new liquid diffuser, positive photosensitive liquid (BPPL) for PS plate, aluminium sections and aluminium foils surface treating reagents, biochemical and clinical diagnostic reagents, and many other fine chemicals. BICR has established ISO9001:2000 quality management system and become an independent system for research, development and large scale production of fine chemicals.

 
From the birth of BICR up to now, over one hundred high-tech projects are finished, among which more than 40 projects gained advanced science and technology prizes, awarded by Nation, the Ministry of Chemical Industry and Beijing municipality. Most of the projects have been transformed into productive forces and brought us great benefit, and gained the prizes of Beijing Science-technology reform and development many times. BICR have made a grand contribution to the chemical reagents and electronic industries of our country.
