| Description?o State Key Laboratory of High Performance Ceramics and Superfine Microstructure was founded in 1988 upon the approval of both the State Planning Commission and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Laboratory, located in the busy urban district of Shanghai, has been opened to all over the word since 1989 and becomes the base of knowledge invention and high technique developments.
Twenty famous professors become the members of the academic committee and professor Jingkun Guo, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is the chairman of the academic committee. The committee supervise our research and give comments of the open subjects. There are many graduated students, postdocs, visiting researchers working in the lab.
The main research interests of the laboratory can be summarized as the following four points from both scientific and technology initiatives, especially on the basic or applied basic researches:
