| Description?o The State Key Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing (LSEC) is located in the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was founded in 1993 by the China Ministry of Science and Technology, with the first director Professsor Zhong-ci Shi.
The laboratory is a multidisciplinary research center for scientific computation. The research of the laboratory focuses on the construction, analysis and implementation of efficient numerical methods and algorithms for solving practical and complex problems arising from various scientific and engineering applications.
At present the research areas include:
Finite element and boundary element methods;
Nonlinear optimization and numerical algebra;
Structure-preserving algorithms for dynamical systems;
Computation of complex flows;
Scientific computing and visualization;
Center for high-performance computing and applications. |
