| Description? Approved by the goverment and supported by the Insistute of Precious Metals, Kunming under the China National Nonferrous Metals Industries Corporation, the NERC was set up in 1993. There are six operating divisions: Basic Research, Technology Development, Engineering Research, Technology Popularization, Products Sales, Talents Training. Now it has 130 staff members, 103 of whom are technical people, and 7 are management people.
Main Engineering R & D Areas
- Research, development and engineering of new precious metal drugs, including anti — rheumatoid arthritis drug "Auranfen"; anticancer "cisplatin","Carbonplatin"; new anti—inflammatory, antithrombosis "copper drug"; anti—cancer "Benplatin", "Pt(IV)drug", etc.
- Research, development and engineering of sensors and coating materials, including precious metal — rare earth metal catalytic sensors to inflammable gases various sensors for carbon monoxide, iso—butane, ethyl alcohol and gas—coal, natural gas, etc; thick film platinum resistance thermometer.
- Research, development and engineering of precious metal alloy catalytic gauzes, including Pt—Pd—Rh—M catalytic gauze, which can save 8% platinum; strengthened Pt—Pd— Rh gauze; capture gauze without gold; strengthened sliver gauze.
