On December 17, more than 900 foreign experts and representatives from all walks of life in Beijing watched the classic Beijing opera Women Generals of the Yang Family, enjoying a grand feast of classic Chinese art, performed by artists from National Peking Opera Company at Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center. The show was held by the Ministry of Science and Technology (State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, SAFEA) as a New Year Special for foreign experts in Beijing. Zhang Jianguo, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Administrator of SAFEA, attended the event. 

Zhang Jianguo delivered a speech during the event, expressing his gratitude to foreign experts for their active contributions for promoting China-foreign exchanges and China??s economic and social development. He said that in the past 40 years of reform and opening up, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China and the hard work of the Chinese people, China has accomplished remarkable achievements, which are inseparable from the active participation and strong support of foreign experts and international friends. Vice Minister Zhang remarked that China?痵 determination to adhere to the reform and opening-up policy will not be shaken and China will open itself wider to the outside world. He reiterated that SAFEA will further promote international talent exchanges and cooperation, push forward mutual learning among civilizations, better serve foreign talents who work in China, and create sound environment for more foreign talents to innovate and start businesses in China.
