LED Gives 360º Illumination

CHEN Jianwei, an engineer working for Shenzhen Guangshe Corp, worked out an LED process allowing a 360-degreeillumination from a single point, based on the theory that insect compound eyes can concentrate light beams within 360 degrees on a single point and the reversibility theory of light. CHEN established an LED photoelectric lab, specially working on condensation, scattering and combination of LED light sources. It takes 5 years for him to work out a 360-degree white LED, which found a solution to address the light losses of existing LEDs, and problems in constructing multiple light sources. CHEN?痵 360-degree white LED has applied for national invention patent. He contributed head lamps equipped with the LEDs he developed to the Chinese Antarctic Expedition Station, in an attempt to test the new LEDS under extreme conditions of the South Pole. In his humble LED lab, one can see a bean-sized LED amazingly cast evenly distributed light beams over the entire room. It is believed that CHEN?痵 360-degree white LED makes the first instance of its kind in the world, changed LED?痵 single-directional illumination.
